About the Curator

Teresa Korber, Curator of Art Nouveau Events

Born to two artists in Miami, FL and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Teresa grew up in the art world and doesn't remember a time when she herself didn't paint. Early on, she developed a fascination with art by watching her father, internationally renowned artist Michael Korber, paint and create.  Her interest was further piqued around age 10 when her father began exposing her to the local art scene in West Palm Beach.  It was at this time that she knew what she wanted to do "something big".

In her 20's, Teresa began taking her painting more seriously and living life as a full-time artist, participating in group and solo art shows.  She watched the local art scene rise and fall.  As a result, when she was approached about curating a live art group show at The Lounge, she reluctantly (but excitedly) took on the job and Art Nouveau Events was born.  Teresa knew she could bring something unique and different to the art scene, focusing on new art of all mediums.  Soon thereafter, her first show, called "Fusion", was in November of 2009 and it was very successful.  Since that first show, the momentum has taken her far... and fast!  Her background includes technical theatre, which she incorporates, via the themes of her Art Nouveau Events.  The shows continue to get bigger and so does its loyal following, and Teresa believes this will continues for years to come!

Besides being an art show curator, Teresa is herself an artist.  Aiming to convey pure emotion, Teresa paints primarily with acrylics on canvas.  For finishing touches, she sometimes trades in the brush to paint with her hands or a palette knife.  Her works illustrate human emotion at both its simplest and most complex.

Teresa's paintings are displayed and for sale in various locations in South Florida.
